Packs and body armor are not generally a good fit. SAPI plates are curved for good ballistic reasons, but their convex outer shape means that packs, especially BIG packs, are precariously balanced against them – allowing the pack to shift and pivot on your back, even with a choking tight harness. The Mystery Ranch Bolstered Ventilation and Stability (BVS) System was created to lock down over your ceramic torso plate with minimum pressure on your shoulder straps. Twin Bolsters stabililze the pack on the edges of your back, allowing your SAPI plate to curve into the hollow center of the pack. When not in armor, the space created by the Bolsters allows forbetter air flow across your back. The Bolsters are a heavy duty open mesh over a mostly open spiral spring core that conforms to your back while encouragingfree airflow. BVS is compatible with all Mystery Ranch packs. It can be built at birth into our day packs and internal frames and our NICE Frame System can have BVS added as an option. We offer this on both CamelBak and Mystery Ranch NICE Frames.
